Our Mission

At Eastwood Christian Church, our mission is more than words on a page-it is the heartbeat of our shared life together, guiding our worship, leadership, outreach and daily discipleship.

Serving God and neighbor, shining God’s light by welcoming all people, building community, as followers of Jesus whom we confess to be the Christ.

All Means All

At Eastwood, we believe that every person is created in the image of God and worthy of love, dignity and belonging.

As an Open and Affirming congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we seek to be a people of grace and welcome to all God’s children. We affirm the faith, baptism and spiritual gifts of all Christians, and we joyfully welcome into fellowship, worship, leadership, and service people of every race, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, physical or mental ability, economic circumstance, political perspective and theological background.

Simply put, All Means All.

We celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation and strive to be a community where everyone can belong, grow and serve together.

What We Confess

At Eastwood Christian Church, we are part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a movement rooted in a simple confession:

“Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and we proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world.”

The historic confession is expressed in the Preamble to the Design of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), which has guided our movement for generations.

As members of the Christian Church,

We confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world.

In Christ’s name and by his grace, we accept our mission of witness and service to all people.

We rejoice in God, maker of heaven and earth, and in God’s covenant of love which binds us to God and to one another.

Through baptism into Christ, we enter into newness of life and are made one with the whole people of God.

In the communion of the Holy Spirit, we are joined together in discipleship and in obedience to Christ.

At the Table of the Lord, we celebrate with thanksgiving the saving acts and presence of Christ.

Within the universal church, we receive the gift of ministry and the light of Scripture.

In the bonds of Christian faith, we yield ourselves to God that we may serve the One whose kingdom has no end.

Blessing, glory, and honor be to God forever. Amen.
