Duties:

 Prepare worship services and other special services

 Lead Sunday worship

 Use the Revised Common Lectionary and/or other appropriate scriptures for preaching the word

 Conduct child dedications, baptisms, weddings, and funerals

 Supervise appropriate staff and collaborate with church leadership. Meet regularly with the church and ECC staff, the pastor’s cabinet, the elders, the board, and other groups as needed to plan together for the work of the church

 Develop, in collaboration with youth teachers and leaders and youth, a stronger youth program

 Provide pastoral care to include home visits and counseling

 Ensure that safe church policies are followed

 Collaborate with other churches, other denominations, and other faiths as opportunities emerge for various get-togethers, dialogue, and interfaith worship

 Develop and maintain strong relationships with the TN region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and encourage strong support of our regional and general manifestations of our denomination amongst congregants

 Collaborate with the general church leadership and our congregation to create a vision, and plan and implement a capital campaign to facilitate improvement of our church property.

 Provide pastoral care to church members, which includes occasional travel within the Davidson county area to visit local hospitals, officiate weddings, conduct funeral services, and visit the homes of church members who cannot attend in-person church services.
